Devils @ Bruins: Home Opener Preview

Tonight the Bruins take the ice against the New Jersey Devils in the first game of the year at TD Garden. The B’s took 4 of 6 points on the road to start the season, and they welcome a 1-1-1 Devils team coming off their first win of the season against Anaheim. 7 p.m. puck drop.
Boston should be buoyed by the return of Patrice Bergeron, and it looks like he’ll take his spot alongside Marchand and the scorching hot Pastrnak.  Backes will skate on Krecji’s wing, with either Heinen or Spooner on the other side.  Riley Nash will be the 3rd line center, in between Beleskey and Hayes with Moore centering the 4th line.  Acciari and one of Heinen/Spooner/Schaller will slot in on the wing to round out the forward group this evening.
A slight change to the D as well, where it appears Joe Morrow is going to get his first shot in the lineup in the place of O’Gara.  Morrow took the skate with Torey Krug, and O’Gara slotted in with McQuaid who is back on the ice but not ready to return.  Chara-Carlo and Liles-Miller remained the same.
What to expect from the Devils
Bruins killer P.A. Parenteau landed in New Jersey so pencil him in for a goal or two tonight. Corey Schneider is becoming one of the most underrated goalies in the league, and B’s will need to pile on the shots to solve him.  They’re a team in transition, but the addition of Taylor Hall (who already has 2 goals in 3 games) will help the Devils be a tough out every night.
Who to Watch?
-Parenteau….seriously I think 80% of his career goals are against Boston.
-Hall……Peter Chiarelli trades top 2 first round picks just for fun.  Both his goals came on the PP so special teams will be important to watch tonight.
-Joe Morrow…..first game of the season, and he’s clearly in a fight for playing time with O’Gara/McQuaid/K.Miller (when he returns).  Morrow has to stay in the discussion for playing time.
